Notify me: notifications addon for SamePlace
Version 0.2 is finally out!
Notify me is an addon for SamePlace. It provides two main features:
- Shows an alert popup when somebody sends a message to you and your chat sidebar is not expanded
- Adds a new Contacts context menu item to watch on an user and alert you when he/she changes status
Using SamePlace Preferences menu, you can choose to be notified by an alert popup (with or without a sound).
You can install Notify me from here (Mozilla Firefox only).
Any feedback is welcome.

Great extension!
This extension rocks!
But two things:
A nice icon for the add-on window would be nice.
And I miss the possibility to choose a specific sound file
A few other issues and
A few other issues and suggestions:
- The SamePlace sidebar should be expanded by a double click onto the pop-up, so that you get directly to the last message and are able to answer fast (like a link)
- You should be able to set the time, how long the pop-up will be displayed.
- The extension should also notice, if a chat window is opened (during the sidebar is not expanded) and only alerts me, if another contact writes a message.
Because it's annoying to have a chat session and alway those alert messages.
- it would look a little bit nicer, if the pop-up could be moved to the edge of the screen. The pop-up seems to be a little bit shifted (about one cm).
- the pop-up should also include the avatar of the contact (maybe already in, but I can't check it at the moment, because no one from my contact list has set an avatar).
- If I select a checkbox by right click onto a contact (for example "goes on-line"), it doesn't seem, that this will be saved. The checkbox has no checkmark anymore, if I go back into this menu, after I clicked ok. Also this function works only for one session. After the next start of Firefox/SamePlace, I have to click on that checkbox again, so that this specific contact is watched further on.

* That feature is pretty primitive. I guess I gotta start to work on it again asap.

One thing more...
Another idea would be to inform, if a contact is currently writing by a pen-icon beside the name of the contact (or would this be a better idea for a Scriptlet?)
Well I know, this is a large list of things, which could be implemented.
But I hope you like my ideas!
